EITC & OSTC 

What They Are

Pennsylvania tax credit programs that allow individuals and businesses to redirect their state tax liability to provide tuition assistance for students in Catholic schools.

How It Works

  1. FCE secures tax credits through Special Purpose Entities (SPEs).
  2. Donors join an SPE and make a contribution.
  3. Donors receive a 90% state tax credit for a two-year commitment (or 75% for one year).
  4. Schools identify eligible students.
  5. FCE distributes funds based on donor designation or directs them where need is greatest.

Tax credit donations open the doors of Catholic education for thousands of students each year, easing financial burdens and strengthening long-term school sustainability.

    Steps To Participate

    1. Check Line 12 of your PA-40 to confirm tax liability
    2. Submit the commitment form
    3. Send contribution when notified
    4. Receive your K-1 in February
    5. Apply your credit during tax filing
    6. Repeat in year two to maintain 90 percent credit

    TuitionCare leverages programs offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that allow individuals to redirect some or all of their state income tax liability to support Catholic education. This program creates a true win-win opportunity – participants are able to redirect their tax dollars while helping to reduce tuition costs at their local Catholic school.
